An Afternoon of Simple Things
Tuesday is my day off, today we had a busy morning but after Little Man’s nap we did good old fashioned toddler stuff! The beauty of doing these sort of activities is that they’re not simple pleasures to Little Man.
We spent some time in the garden; he loved being able to run around, really enjoyed stomping in the leaves and hid behind our shed…a lot!
When it was time to warm up we got the playdoh out and Little Man sat for a good half an hour mesmerized by the little spaghetti making machine catching the ‘wiggly worms’.
He is just a big sponge; constantly learning and finding out new things. To see these things through a 2 year olds eyes is heartwarming and lovely. I think I enjoyed this afternoon more than a big planned day trip and I think Little Man did too.
This is why I chose to work part time and what makes pushing through the bad toddler tantrum filled days (like yesterday!) 100% worth it. Little Man stomping round our garden in his wellies or making wiggly worms with playdough will soon be a distant memory for both of us as he grows up and takes these things for granted. Its nice to stop in this busy life of ours sometimes and take a minute to cherish the simple things in life.
I hope you have had a fun filled day.
