Book Review: ‘Thank You’

20150321_141816 Little Man & I have been reading a new book this week. It’s called Thank You – My First Book of Manners published by Little Tiger Press. I am a big fan of Little Tiger Press so was thrilled to receive this.

Manners are at the top of my list when it comes to teaching Little Man new things at the moment. I am forever telling him to thank people for things, to say please and excuse me when he barges past so this book was a great addition to our bookshelf.

The story is based around a puppy whose birthday it is. Every time something happens like receiving presents or his birthday cake, he thanks his friends. Every page finishes with the puppy saying thank you. The book also has a fun interactive finger puppet in the middle of the book which Little Man loved. It is a board book so hard wearing and the pages are fun and colourful which really helped hold Little Man’s attention. It is also a short story so he didn’t lose interest before the end.

This book is great for teaching Little Man to say thank you in a fun way rather than me nagging him to say it. On the back of the book the puppy says ‘Don’t be shy about using your best polite puppy voice’. I like the idea of asking Little Man to use his polite voice.

Even after just a few reads of the book, Little Man had picked up on the rhyming and repetition in the book and was reading along with me. I always find a rhyming book really helps them to remember it and get involved.20150329_094212

If you’re like me and in the middle of teaching your toddler manners then this book is a great starting point and comes highly recommended from us!

Now for the important stuff. Thank You is part of the My Little World series and includes other titles like Please and also some animals & farm jigsaw and sticker books.  Thank You costs £6.99 and is recommended for ages 0-3 years. You can find out more about Thank You here or visit the Little Tiger Press website.
