Vlogs & Why I Love Them

Recently I have realised that on the 3 nights that G is away every week my TV watching has dramatically decreased! After I have put Little Man to bed I tend to eat my dinner whilst watching a trashy soap and the TV watching ends there. Instead I grab my tablet, head up to bed and spend a good couple of hours (sometime a lot more!) watching vlogs. I can’t get enough of them.

I especially like daily or weekly vlogs. I love watching people especially Mums just living their lives, in fact the more normal daily life included in them the better! I don’t know what it is about watching normal people do normal stuff but it’s addictive viewing. I guess it is like a reality show but actual reality rather than scary Big Brother type characters running around a house shouting, screaming and quite often naked!

I actually started watching Vlogs when I went onto YouTube to see what all the fuss about Zoella was. I enjoy watching her vlogs, especially her hauls but she is 24, living in Brighton in a rather fancy house with Alfie Deyes, a pug and at the moment being made into a Madame Tussards waxwork model. Not hugely relatable when I am pushing 30, living in the West Midlands in a average sized house with a husband, toddler and 3 fish. Since I have started blogging and entered the parenting blogging community I have found lots of parenting vlogs to watch and actually prefer these now to the Zoella/Tanya Burr/Sprinkle of Glitter vlogs although they do still seem to be my guilty pleasure.

I have tried vlogging a couple of times but I don’t feel very comfortable in front of the camera so am sticking to watching them rather than making them at the moment. If you are looking for something to watch then I thought I would share with you a few of my favourite vloggers at the moment. Here they are.

Go and show these YouTube channels some love, they are well worth a look. Apologies now if you get addicted like me!!

I would love to hear of any good vloggers that I’m missing out on so please let me know if you watch any that I haven’t mentioned.

Have a lovely day.

A huge thank you for the mention!! Means so much. I’m so glad you enjoy watching and I have to completely agree with you about all of those lovely vloggers listed above. They are all utterly amazing and very addictive so to see that you’ve listed me with some of the nicest and most influential vloggers is a huge deal to me! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Your an amazing blogger and I did enjoy watching your few vlogs that you did but until you feel confident with it, it’s quite difficult to enjoy as you should so hopefully we will see you vlogging again but until then your doing amazingly with your blog! I loved this post and not just for the mention but because it was well written and it was like you were having a conversation with me. I agree with you completely about the guilty pleasures haha!

I haven’t really got into the whole vlogging thing yet! I actually did one myself, on my phone for the vlogging challenge but then it took so rustratingly long to upload onto youtube I gave up, needed the storage on my phone and deleted it! Equally, I haven’t really watched many. Maybe I should try, or maybe it will make me have even less time than I do?! I may go have a look at some of those though and see what it’s all about! Thanks so much for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday

I feel exactly the same! I really enjoy vlogs and our tv watching is reduced to whenever we find something good on Netflix. Period. Thanks for the links will be watching them!

Thanks for the tips! I started putting some of our videos online a few months ago but have only just recently dared step out in front of the camera for a few myself. Have watched a few of the people you mentioned but will have to look through the others. I’m https://www.youtube.com/mummytravels
