Book Review: Red Car Blue Car

A very exciting package arrived at our door a couple of weeks ago from Little Tiger Press. I am always excited when we are given the chance to review their books. Back when I was 18 and working at the children’s library in central Birmingham I loved to read their books at story time. However, Little Man was extra chuffed with this particular book as it is all about different vehicles. In other words, Little Man’s favourite topic of all time.

The book is called Red Car Blue Car from their My Little World series.

As I said Little Man loves cars, planes, trains, rockets. Anything that is a vehicle basically so this book is perfect for him.

It is a really cute story about all the different types of vehicles and what they do. It includes a bus, plane, car, hot air balloon, rocket and train. It is a pop-up book which makes it all the more exciting for toddlers and Little Man likes to try and look inside the bus, plane, etc. Little Man has been quite rough with the pop-up parts of the book and not one rip has occurred which shows how hardy this book is as Little Man has been known to rip pop-up books by accident.

The other thing I really love about this book is that each page is a different rhyme. I find rhyming books really help Little Man with his language development. The rhymes in this book make it all the more interactive as Little Man likes to tell the story with me.

I can’t fault this book; I am really impressed with it and it is just so perfect for Little Man. If you have a vehicle obsessed toddler this is the book for them!

Now for the important stuff. Red Car Blue Car is £6.99 and is recommended for ages 3+ years. You can find out more about Red Car Blue Car here or visit the Little Tiger Press website.
