My 30th Celebrations
I am sat here on a the day after the week before. I am a little sad to be honest. Not because I am 30; I’m super happy to be entering my 30s but because it is all over. Our little family haven’t had a holiday this year but we have all had a week off together and now we are at the end. We used my 30th as an excuse to celebrate all week and to spend some much needed quality time as a family. If you are a regular reader you will know that G being home all week is a novelty in itself. I thought I would tell you all about our week together.
Monday – We spent the morning together enjoying the lack of Monday morning feeling and then G and Little Man went off to Worcester woods, a local park to ride Little Man’s bike. I headed over to meet my girl friends and we went for afternoon tea. It was such a lovely afternoon, we ate lots of yummy cake, drank lots of tea and set the world to rights. They spoilt me with flowers, a balloon and a beautiful Pandora charm. It was a great start to the week.
Tuesday – We had a little break in the celebrations for a funeral.
Wednesday – Family time was officially a go! We headed to West Midlands Safari Park and had a great time. We even managed to avoid the rain. After driving around on Safari which Little Man loved we headed to their new dinosaur area which blew Little Man’s mind a little bit. He is a huge fan of dinosaurs and having them move around him was fantastic. I am going to do a separate blog post telling you all about our visit here so look out for that if you are thinking of going.
Thursday – My birthday! We had a chilled family morning opening presents and having a walk round the park. My parents came over in the afternoon and G & I headed off to a hotel for the night. This was the first night I had spent away from Little Man since he was born so it was a big deal. However, the super early mornings had taken it’s toll and we were in need of a break. We had a lovely time at the Chateau Impney in Droitwich involving champagne, yummy food and a lie in. What more could I want?
Friday – We returned home to our boy who was very pleased to see us; the feeling was mutual and spent some time with my parents and my nan.
Saturday – Our last day of our ‘holiday’ and we decided to visit Evesham Country Park where there is a little steam train that we knew Little Man would love. Again, I will write a separate post on this as it was a great morning out and if you are in the Midlands I would definitely recommend a visit.
And here we are back to Sunday. The washing is on, the house has been cleaned and Gs case will be packed later. It is back to work and nursery for us after a lovely week off. I wish I could turn 30 every month!
How do you celebrate big birthdays?
