Finding time to exercise is like finding a needle in a haystack for me. Okay, so I may be exaggerating but I am very good at finding excuses not to exercise. When I do, I feel loads better but actually getting the motivation is tricky.
I used to love going to classes before I had Little Man but with G working away I am confined to the house in the evenings and when G is home I don’t like to be out all the time. Not long after having Little Man I started to do exercise DVDs, you know the ones where the celebrity looks amazing on the front. I find excuses not to do these too though as I find them boring after a while doing exactly the same routine to the same music and not even starting to look as amazing as said celebrity.
Then Mummy Workouts came into my life.
If you haven’t heard of them before let me explain. Mummy Workouts provide fab workout routines for busy Mums. Their defining factor being that you can join a live class, stick on your webcam and get exercising. The trainer can see what you are doing so if your techniques are a bit off (I thought this was especially great for yoga) they can let you know but they canalso give you lots of encouragement along the way. You don’t have to use a webcam if you don’t feel very confident doing that but it is important to note that no one other than the trainer can see you. The classes are usually around 7:30pm which I have to admit is a tricky time for me but all the classes that have been done live are also recorded so you can pop on there any time, choose a class and get going.
I used to be a massive fan of legs, tums and bums classes so I took part in a few of these. They were great, Tina the trainer was really encouraging and the exercises were easy to grasp. Wow did it burn! I am officially very unfit but a few more of these classes will get my fitness levels up. You can also take part in yoga classes, pilates and core training too.
If you fancy having a go at these workouts a monthly membership is £12 which is considerably cheaper than the eye watering price I used to pay for gym membership and this is for unlimited classes. When you sign up you get a 7 day free trial to see if it is for you too.
Let me know if you have a go, would love to hear how you find it.
**UPDATE – The company is now called Hey Workouts – you can find them here***
