Bedtime Story of the Month – September – Brown Bear, Brown Bear

Bedtime (1)

Welcome back to my Bedtime Story of the Month series. When I am not being a Mummy or a Blogger I am a School Librarian for a load of teenagers. I see every day why it is so important to read to our little ones as early as possible. I can’t stress enough how much of a difference reading to and with your young children makes for them later in life. So with this in mind I thought I would begin to share some favourite books in our house Every month I will share a new story that we have been enjoying at bedtime.. Little Man has a bedtime story every night; it is one of my favourite parts of the day and really helps to settle him.

So lets get started for September. September’s story has become an old favourite in our house. It is Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? by Bill Martin.Jc and illustrated by Eric Carle.

This book is perfect for toddlers. The story is based around different animals and asking what they can see. It ends with the monkey at the zoo being able to see all the children looking at him! Each page has a different animal and a different colour so great for learning both of these. There is a lot of repetition too and Little Man loves to read a long with me. I often hear him telling the story to himself too or singing the words, very cute!

One of my favourite things about this book is the illustrations. I am a big fan of Eric Carle books and he doesn’t disappoint in this book, they are beautiful and cover the whole page. Eye catching and engaging for little people!

Have you read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? with your little one? As always, I am constantly on the look out for new bedtime stories for Little Man and I to share together so if you have any recommendations please let me know.

Have a lovely day.

This is one I’ve not read before! We’ve always had a ridiculous amount of books in our house, now the boys are 9 and 11 I miss reading to them as they like to read to themselves in bed now (sob) they used to love story time though!
Thanks for linking up to #PicknMix
