What do you really need to buy when you’re pregnant?

I remember being pregnant and downloading list after list of things to buy for me and my newborn. Magazines were stacked full of ideas and ‘essentials’ that we needed! Looking back, I’m not sure we actually needed a lot of those things. 576222_10151985850120594_1536505403_n

I have a few friends who are pregnant or have brand new little babies at the moment (it is bliss, nothing I like more than pregnancy and baby talk!) and a few people have asked what I bought for Sa
m when I was pregnant. Short of climbing up into the loft to have a look in all the baby boxes, I can’t remember to be honest.

It is difficult when you are pregnant with your precious first baby; you want to get them the best of everything. But take it from me, babies don’t actually need a lot! I have contributed to a New Baby Checklist and I wanted to share it with you (and any of my pregnant friends who may be reading this). You can find the New Baby Checklist: 36 Essentials for Expecting Parents here. There are 36 things on the list and a great way to start that list of things you need. There is some great advice on things like baby bedding, pregnancy books and babymoons (yes, you must have one of these)!

Please let me know if you have any ideas or items you couldn’t live without when you were pregnant and comment with them below.

I think with your first you get so excited you get carried away with buying things and then with your second your more circumspect – or have it all in the loft! One of our best buys was the vibrating bouncer.

Ha with the first one I think everyone buys a ridiculous amount of things, I had clothes he never even wore as funnily enough he didn’t need hundreds of size newborn clothes….he grew out of them – go figure!

We bought lots of newborn and Sam was so tall he didn’t fit in them, G had to go out and buy a load of 0-3 clothes while we were still in hospital! xx
