We have held out our arms to Christmas and given it a big hug. Last weekend we officially started our Christmas time. Eek I am so excited. The main reason being that Little Man is truely invested in Christmas this year. Slowly but surely every Christmas he has picked up on the excitement but this year he really understands what is going on. He is even in his first nativity at nursery, I don’t think my Mummy heart can get any warmer!
Last Saturday I explained to Little Man about Santa coming on Christmas eve and that if he had been a good boy he might bring some presents for him. I printed out some festive paper and we set about writing a letter to Santa. I gave him four spaces on the letter where we could write four presents that he would like. He actually chose really small things but it was nice to limit the list. Letter wrote by Mummy, Little Man decorated it in Christmas stickers which he thought Santa would like and we posted it off to Santa. We are using the Royal Mail’s Santa service.
After the letter writing we all got wrapped up and headed down to our local high street to watch the Christmas lights being switched on. There was a really lovely community spirit about the place and it was lovely to see the high street lit up by pretty Christmas lights and trees. Little Man loved it and it was a really magical moment for me. I find myself getting very emotional at these sorts of things now Little Man is a bit older. I think I will be a blubbering wreak by Christmas Day.
Next step, is getting the Christmas tree up in a couple of weeks when our living room has been decorated. Look out for more Christmas posts coming soon, I may turn into a bit of an obsessive. After all, ’tis the season to be jolly!!

Oh I absolutely love Christmas too and it is so so magical when you have children. I so cannot wait to get the decorations up too 🙂 #picknmix

We’ve just put ours up today. Sam loved it! xx
I love this time of year and oh I am so jealous of your santa writing and nativity watching – my boys are growing up way too fast for me liking and they are even non believers now (sobs). Hope you have an amazing Christmas with your special little family,
Stevie xx #PicknMix
