A week or so ago we took Little Man on his first theatre trip. My parents had got him We’re Going on a Bear Hunt tickets for his birthday.
I loved the theatre when I was younger and still do so to be able to take Little Man was brilliant. And just like his Mummy he loved it.
We saw We’re Going on a Bear Hunt at the mac theatre in Birmingham. It was performed by the Little Angel Theatre. We are already huge fans of the book so Little Man already knew a lot of the words! The performance was a puppet show and amazing! It took us through the story with little songs and even a few jokes thrown in for the parents too! All the children, mostly toddlers were mesmerised by the lifelike puppets. Little Man loved joining in too. It made me a bit emotional watching him enjoy it so much.
Because it was a family performance it was tailored perfectly for children. The seats meant that all the kids could see easily and the theatre wasn’t too big or intimidating. The lights were dimmed instead of it being completly dark which I think made for a more comfortable show for both little ones and parents. There was also no worries about noise because all the kids at one point or another had a little chat!
Here’s a sneeky peek at the show in these beautiful photos of the show.
I would highly recommend this performance if you can get to see it. It was a lovely family morning out. You can find out more information here.
