Visiting the Big Red Christmas Craft Bus in Hereford

We were invited along to visit Santa in the Big Red Christmas Bus in the Old Market Shopping Centre in Hereford. Little Man is loving Christmas this year but I had been wondering how to tackle the Santa visit with Little Man this year. Although he has always been very eager to see Santa, he has very scared of him when it has come to the actual meeting in previous years. Being invited onto the Big Red Christmas Bus seemed like a great way to try out the Santa visit this year as Little Man loves all things transport and buses are no exception.

Visiting the Big Red Christmas Bus

We visited on a very rainy Saturday and after parking up found the bus really easily. One of the things I love about this experience is its location; it is in the middle of a shopping centre and you don’t have to book to go on, you can just turn up. This is great for parents; when Christmas shopping is getting a bit much for the kids this is a great place to take them for a little break for them and you!

We were welcomed on to the bus by some very friendly elves who took Little Man off to do some crafting. Again Little Man is often very shy in these sorts of situations but the elves made him feel really comfortable. They sat and made reindeer food which Little Man got to take home with him.

Then it was time to climb the stairs to find Santa. To say we were surprised is an understatement. As we got onto the top deck of the bus we were met with the most beautiful winter wonderland. It was decorated beautifully and right at the end of the bus was Santa! Little Man bounded up to him (surprisingly!) and had a lovely chat with him. He happily posed for photos and told Santa exactly what he would like for Christmas. It was a lovely experience for all three of us. As you can see from the photo, Little Man was over the moon to be sitting with Santa.

We really loved our visit to the Big Red Christmas Bus! It was such a lovely magical experience made even more special by the lovely elves and Santa. This experience is free too so it really is great for a quick stop off while you’re shopping.

The Big Red Christmas Bus will be there again on Friday 18th & Saturday 19th December from 11am if you are in the area. The elves told me they are making fairies for on top of the Christmas trees then! I really would recommend a visit. You can find more information here.
