Why I Will Always Be A Mummy in Training

When I decided to start this blog, I read around for advice on what to call it. The main bit of advice was call it something timeless. Something that would take you through all chapters of your life.

Why I will always be a mummy in training

Mummy in Training felt perfect to me. The main reason being that this is what I will always be. When you first have a baby, you feel like that is your training. You are a new Mum trying to work out how do it all. How to look after this little human that has been thrust into your life. Those first few weeks were a massive learning curve for me and once I had got Little Man into a routine and he was sleeping through I relaxed a bit, thought I’d got this thing handled.

Then weaning came.

Then he crawled and eventually walked.

Then he stopped napping.

Then he needed potty training.

Then he became a threenager.

Being a parent gets you constantly learning, constantly adapting to new things that these little people throw at you. As Little Man grows up I am sure the list above will get longer and longer and on each point there will be a new thing. A new thing to learn. Even when Little Man is a grown up (sob) and maybe has a family of his own, I will still be learning. Learning how to be there for him, but not be there too much.

However long we have at this parenting lark, we are always getting something new thrown at us. And that, my friends is why I will always be a Mummy in Training.
