A Disney Cars Bedroom
As Little Man’s world is about to be turned upside down in the shape of 2 small baby girls we really wanted to give him a nice treat. His bedroom was still his nursery; all the nursery furniture and baby wall stickers and accessories. As we will need the nursery furniture for the twins and Little Man is nearly 4 (can’t quite believe that one!) we decided we would give his room a makeover.
I was very aware of the timescale for this project; I didn’t want to do it too close to the babies birth so that Little Man associated his old room going with the twins moving in. So we have been planning his room for the last few weeks and finally did it a couple of weekends ago.
Obviously with two more mouths to feed soon we were on a budget and managed to do his whole room for a reasonable price. The only thing we didn’t need to do was paint the room as it’s a pretty standard blue that works with everything. The theme was the easiest part to decide as Little Man is a big fan of Disney Cars espeically Lightening McQueen. We were also looking for some good storage solutions due to me wanting to make Little Man’s room a bit more interactive so when I am busy with the babies upstairs he has somewhere fun to play with lots of his toys upstairs.
We managed to find a really lovely Lightening McQueen bed, I realise it won’t last him that long but every car mad boy needs a car bed at some point in their life don’t they?! We then had an Ikea spree and found some lovely toy storage and a fab wardrobe with lots of storage. We accessorised with the red boxes and handles to match the bed. We also got a Lightening Mcqueen light shade and some wonderful wall stickers which finish the room off really nicely. Little Man loved setting up his new room with us especially deciding where the stickers would go.
I was of course a little worried if he would settle in his new room but he has loved it and is already happily getting up in the morning and playing in his room rather than constantly wanting to sit in bed with his tablet which is a great thing in itself for me.
I hope you like the photos I have shared with you. If you would like to know where anything is from that I have mentioned just contact me on social media.
Now on to the nursery!
