Review – Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointment
Nappy rash! It has become the bane of my life since having Little Lady. Little Man didn’t really suffer with it other than the odd flare up when teething so I was not clued up on the best thing to use. The lovely people at Bepanthen sent me some of their nappy care ointment to try and I have to say I was impressed.
I have used Bepanthen before but not regularly. I tend to fight the fire when it happens which after reading Bepanthen’s advice I realised I was taking the wrong approach to nappy rash. Bepanthen say that the best way to deal with nappy rash is to stop it coming in the first place which really makes perfect sense. They recommend putting a layer of Bepanthen on baby’s bottom every night before bed so that is what we have been doing. We have a really good bath and bedtime routine so using Bepanthen every night has slotted into the bedtime routine perfectly. It’s a good time for me to do it too as I am terrible for remembering to do things like this but it is in the bathroom and ready to be used every night. I have seen a marked improvement in Little Lady’s nappy rash and so far is has not returned!
When using creams on babies you always want to make sure it has the good stuff in don’t you? Bepanthen have that sorted; it is fragrance, preservatives, colours and antiseptic free so great for sensitive skin like Little Lady’s. It also has pro-vitamin B5 in it which moisturises baby’s bottom too and helps it to heal. It sounds pretty good doesn’t it?
The cream is a lovely consistency and you only need a little bit to create a thin layer over a little bottom so a little goes a long way which I like.
Bepanthen really have thought about parents too. So many creams have screw lids leaving you with not enough hands and the baby either escaping or getting in a mess themselves. Bepanthen has a flip top lid so you can open it one handed which as we all know is a skill you learn pretty quickly when you have a baby.
If you want to try Bepanthen for yourself you can find it in most supermarkets and chemists. The RRP for the 30g tube is £3.99 and £7.99 for the 100g tube. Value for money is important too and for us it really is just that; as I mentioned a little goes a long way so the tube really does last you a while. To find out more head over to the Bepanthen website. They have some great tips and advice over there.
I was sent these products in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
