Review – Seventh Generation Cleaning Products

With the change of being at home more has come a change in my cleaning routine. I am always on the look out for products to make my life easier and that do the job well. Seventh Generation asked me to review their products and I jumped at the chance. What makes Seventh Generation special is that their products have no nasties in them. This is an area I have never explored with cleaning products before so I was really interested to see if they matched up to my usual chemical filled products. I have to say using chemical free cleaning products isn’t something that I have ever really considered but I have to say the more I thought about it the more I liked the idea. If you can have a product that does as good as or even better job then it makes sense to banish the chemicals! The cleaning products are plant based and make for a much more healthier house and of course it helps the environment too.

In my exciting package I received Seventh Generation washing powder & conditioner, washing up liquid, toilet cleaner, all purpose cleaner and glass cleaner. These are all things I use every day so I put them to the test because of course the big question is do they work?

After using the products for a few weeks I can safely say yes they do work. I was genuinely really impressed.

The washing powder & conditioner was the biggest concern for me as both my kids have sensitive skin so I have to be really careful what I wash their clothes with. I am happy to say they had no reaction at all to their clothes being washed in Seventh Generation. The clothes came out smelling clean and fresh too.

The toilet cleaner was great and did the job well as did the washing up liquid. What I really liked about the washing up liquid was that a little seems to go a long way. It was in the scent Lavender Flower & Mint and it smelt divine. Lots of bubbles and everything came out nice and clean. It dissolved grease well and didn’t leave any horrible residue.

The two sprays were my favourite. I have a lot of glass in my house and my Dad is chief window cleaner (I’m not sure he will appreciate that name!) so I got him to try it out. He gave it a massive thumbs up and kept showing me the sparkly windows. Believe me, he is tough to please! Some of my doors have glass panels in them so there are forever sticky finger marks and they came off perfectly. The surface cleaner has become my staple cleaner for the kitchen. It recommends on the bottle to leave it on a little longer for stubborn marks so I did and managed to get ink off my kitchen table that Little Man had managed to get everywhere with a stamp. Again, the smell is lovely and clean smelling and not a hint of nasty chemical smell at all.

Overall after feeling a little sceptical Seventh Generation have won me over. Their products clean well and I really have come round to the idea that non chemical cleaners are the way forward for our families health and for doing our bit for helping the environment. It’s a win win.

These products were sent to me in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
