The Quote I Live By

It’s the beginning of the year and all over social media are motivational quotes to get us started for the year. Anyone that knows me personally knows that I love a good quote. They aren’t necessarily motivational ones but they are ones that mean something to me. Call me sad, but I love to browse Pinterest looking at quotes that fit my feelings. I may be a blogger and write for a job but I find putting my own feelings into words sometimes tricky. I don’t have one specifically for 2018 but I do have one that I have lived by for the last few years and it is this…

It’s a simple one really but it really has helped me. I have a print of it next to my bed and when my anxiety was at its peak I read it every single day before I pushed myself to get out of bed. No matter how hard life got it was very rare I didn’t get up out of bed and reading this really did help.

Sometimes just getting up, even though it wasn’t what I wanted to do made me feel a little better. Showing up to things I didn’t feel like doing gave me a boost, knowing that that day I hadn’t given up. It was the same for me when Little Lady was in hospital, getting up and facing the day was hard but getting up and showing up did help in the end.

So if you’re finding the start of the year a bit tough going and you’re looking at all the motivational quotes feeling like they are too big of a hill to climb try this one. It’s simple to do and really did help me. I would love to hear what quotes you love and which ones have really made an impact on your life.

I love this. It’s such a wonderful quote to live by. And it’s so true. I have two quotes that I live by: That which does not kill you makes you stronger AND you can’t control what happens in your life but you can control your reaction to it. The last quote was said by my Great Uncle David. He was such a wise man and this his words have always stayed with me. Hugs Lucy xxxx
