Our Bedtime Routine with InfaCare

With a husband that mostly works away all week every week routines are the way I get through life especially now I have two children. If I wasn’t organised I’m not sure we would ever get out of the door in time for everything. I definitely wouldn’t get them to bed at a reasonable hour if we didn’t have a bedtime routine.

Little Man has had a decent bedtime routine since he was about 9 months old but when Little Lady came home it all went a bit to pot. I had to fit his bath around her feeds and hope she didn’t cry too much while I read him a story. When Little Lady started sleeping through the night I took the opportunity to start her bedtime routine up and sync the two. I realise I sound a bit routine obsessed and I know it’s not for everyone but I am a massive fan of bedtime routines especially. They make for calm children before sleep and hopefully then they then help keep said children asleep! So if you have to do the bedtime routine on your own and you’re tearing your hair out I thought sharing ours may help. I always like to use routines that other Mums have told me about as they tend to be a good starting point. Obviously there are times we don’t stick to it or it all goes terribly wrong and I am reaching for the chocolate by 8pm but generally it works.

The biggest part of our bedtime routine is the bath part of it. We tend to use the bath and book rule as much as we can so the bath is such an important part of the evening. When InfaCare got in touch to ask me to review their Baby Bath I was really looking forward to giving it a go and using it in the kids bedtime bath.

InfaCare is a ultra mild bubble bath for little ones. It has a PH balanced which means it creates natural levels of acid and alkaline for their skin and hair too. It is designed to work well for children with sensitive and dry skin which is a big plus point for us and both kids suffer from sensitive skin and because I bath them every night their skin can sometimes get a bit dry so this is great for them

So here is our bedtime routine for Little Man (5 years old) and Little Lady (22 months old).

Little Man has a glass of milk and we have tidy up time downstairs.

Both kids brush their teeth and have a bath. We have been using InfaCare in the bath for a while now and I have to say I am really impressed. I love the fact it comes in a 750ml bottle so it’s going to last for a while especially as you really do only need a tiny amount to get some great bubbles. We all know bubbles make a bath ten times more exciting for kids. The smell of InfaCare to me is a new baby smell. I’m sure you know the one I mean. It’s a very gentle smell but lasts on the kids skin once they are out the bath making them smell delicious! As for their skin, we have had no problems  whilst using InfaCare and they come out of the bath very soft. I really am very impressed with it.

They are both out of the bath and we get cosy in my bed with something quiet on the TV while Little Man has a small bedtime snack of some dry cereal and Little Lady has her bottle of milk.

A very sleepy Little Lady goes to bed.

Little Man and I read together in bed for 10 minutes and then it’s lights out and he goes off to bed too.

I hope this routine helps anyone that is struggling to find a routine for bedtime. If you are looking for a daily bathtime product to use I would highly recommend using InfaCare; it smells lovely, it’s gentle on the skin and it lasts a long time.

Infacare was sent to me in return for my thoughts on it. Opinions are 100% my own.

I am ALL about the bedtime routine. I think it’s a fundamental part of the day. Amazing how many kids don’t have a bedtime x

There is only 19 months between my two, so when they were small routine was the only thing to vaguely stop the chaos 😉
