Review – The No More Worries Kit from The Irish Fairy Door Company
Since Little Man started school I feel like I miss out on a lot of his life. I love how much he likes school and how independent he is now but I always have a bit of a niggling voice in the back of my mind worrying that he is telling me everything. I wonder how he is getting on with his friends or if he is understanding everything he is being taught. I think that’s natural for most parents but like most kids when I ask him how his day was he says fine and that’s all I get out of him most days.
He is quite good at talking to me if anything is worrying him but it is always good to have a back up plan isn’t it? The Irish Fairy Door Company got in touch to see if we would like to review their new No More Worries Kit so I jumped at the chance.
The No More Worries Kit is designed for kids to have somewhere to express their feelings or concerns. It comes with a mini plaque (you can buy bigger ones too), a Feelings Journal and some conversation cards.
When it arrived I explained to Little Man all about the worry plaque and if he had any worries then he could grab the plaque and ask the fairies to take it away. He really liked the idea of it. When your little one puts their finger on the plaque it turns red and then turns green when the fairy has taken the worry away. We then went on to talk about what was worrying him and talked our way through it. I think young children sometimes don’t know how to start up a conversation about something they are worrying about so the No More Worries Plaque is great for starting the conversation and allowing them to open up a bit more. I also love the mini one because we can take it out and about with us and use it if Little Man is feeling a bit unsure about something. It is small and discreet so no one knows we are using it.
We have also used the Feelings Journal to draw happy or sad faces for each day so I can see if Little Man has had a good or bad day without him having to actually tell me. The Journal is really lovely with some really nice illustrations on the page. The conversation cards are great if you are struggling to encourage your child to open up to you. They have some great conversation starters and questions to ask.
The Irish Fairy Door Company has an amazing website too with some great videos for the kids to watch. From going to the dentist to moving home to peer pressure they cover all sorts of issues that a child may be concerned about. The videos are presented by the fairies and are super engaging for kids.
All in all we loved the No More Worries Kit and will be using it lots I am sure. The plaque is a great way to start a conversation and so very comforting for little ones to see their worry disappear and the light turn green. Such a great product.
I was sent this product in exchange for an honest review. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
