Dear Little Lady,
It’s your 2nd birthday! Oh it’s gone so fast. I feel like I’ve blinked and you’re 2.
Two years ago I was meeting you and your sister for the first time. You looked so tiny in your incubator, there was barely any part of you that didn’t have some sort of wire attached to you. Right at that moment when I stroked your tiny hand I knew you were a fighter, a true warrior and you have proved me right.
Your first year was all about getting you better, making sure you survived your early delivery but this year has really been about getting to know you.
What can I say about Little Lady? You are all kinds of fiery, you are strong willed and loud. My gosh are you loud! You are also the most loving child; you love a cuddle and a kiss and give them out to everyone you love. You are happy and my little ray of sunshine. I only have to glance at you and you give me the biggest grin. You like swings, your Bear and Daddy’s bacon sandwiches. You are such a little star and brighten up everyone’s day when they are around you. You love nursery and everyone there loves you too. You bum shuffle your way through life and you even do that with a bit of sass. Oh and you really like cheese!
You’ve not managed to walk yet as we’ve found out you have floppy feet or hyper-mobility as the professionals say! You’ve got some super special pink boots coming soon though to sort that right out and I know you will be doing it in no time.
Your brother is your biggest fan, he pretends he’s not bothered but I have never seen a prouder boy than when you hit a milestone. He understands it’s been a bit harder for you and he is your cheerleader. He proudly tells everyone about you and he loves it when you play chase with him. You are his biggest fan too, I think you think he is pretty awesome. You particularly love his bedroom and his toys which I’m not sure he’s that pleased about but he puts up with it because, well it’s you. He has your back Little Lady and I know he always will do.
You’re not old enough to learn properly about your twin sister yet but you come with me to visit her all the time and you love to play with the windmills at her grave. You even gave her teddy a hug for her the other day. It’s not how we thought your 2nd birthday would be but we will enjoy it all the same.
So we’re on to your 3rd year now, Mummy and Daddy couldn’t be prouder of you and we can’t wait to see what this year brings for you.
Love you always,
