Just like that, you are 3
Dear Little Lady,
Happy 3rd Birthday my darling girl, where has the time gone? It feels like just yesterday I was writing your second birthday letter.
This year has flown by in the blink of an eye. You, as always have been amazing but this year it’s not just about you beating all the medical stuff. It has been about that personality of yours coming out for everyone to see and most definitely hear. They called you ‘Sassy’ in Neonatal and you have lived up to that name; you are feisty, loud, strong willed and the most caring little girl I’ve ever met. You are so much harder than your brother was at this age, sometimes I don’t know what to do with you but then I remember that this sass and fight got you through your first few weeks of life, how can I complain about that?
This year you have learnt to walk which wasn’t easy for you. We finally got a diagnosis of hyper-mobility or floppy ankles as we like to call them and you got the best pink boots any toddler could wish for. Those magic boots got you up and walking and you’ve never looked back. You don’t let your ankles hold you back and you keep up in any group of friends. I’m so proud of you for that. All of those physio sessions were so worth it to see those first steps.
You’re such a chatterbox and your speech is amazing. I love our little chats about nothing at all and I love how you and your brother have a good chin wag now in the mornings over breakfast about your days ahead.
You, my darling are amazing. I wonder if you miss your twin? We talk about her a little bit now and I think you are starting to understand, she would be so proud of you. She alerted me to something being wrong, that saved you. You were both a force to be reckoned with.
Last year we had your birthday on the beach and this year we will too. Let’s write your sisters name in the sand and let’s hold hands while you take your walk on the same sand for the first time.
Happy Birthday my little firecracker, we love you so very much.
Love Mummy x
