Review – Afternoon Tea at The Belfry with Red Letter Days

Last week myself and my best friend visited The Belfry in the West Midlands to review Red Letter Days gift experience for afternoon tea there. Going for our afternoon tea is one of our favourite ways to catch up so we were really looking forward to it.

Booking the experience was really easy. A voucher is emailed to you with all the instructions and information about the experience inside it. I simply had to activate the voucher and then just ring up The Belfry to book our afternoon tea. We opted for a Saturday afternoon at 2pm.

The Belfry itself is an award winning luxury hotel and resort. Simply put, it’s stunning. It certainly has the ‘wow’ factor when you walk it with its tasteful decor and relaxed atmosphere you are at ease straight away. We were directed to the Brabazon Bar where we were having afternoon tea and seated quickly. The bar is huge and even though it was busy we didn’t feel squashed in at all. In fact we were sat at a nice large table with big comfy chairs. The service from then on was amazing, we had a lovely waitress who explained everything to us and offered us drinks before coming out with our food.

The food was no short of amazing. It was delicious. Unlike many afternoon tea trips we had been on we were able to order tea, coffee or fruit juices as our drinks. We had fruit juices to start after a long drive and then later my best friend had a very large coffee and I had some green tea. All the tea was loose leaf tea and there was plenty to choose from including Earl Grey, Moroccan Mint & Rose Water and Persian Pomegranate. We then had sandwiches which we could have had refilled if we wanted to; these were lovely and fresh. There was a huge range of cakes too including red velvet, cider bread and choux buns. The red velvet was divine! They were all presented beautifully. Finally we were given scones and banana bread which came out when we requested them so we could have them warm. They were both a lovely end to the meal. We couldn’t quite finish all of our food and were given a box to take anything home that was left over so no waste and a cheeky treat for later when we weren’t so full!

After our food we went for a wander around the grounds of The Belfry which is gorgeous, the views are stunning and we even saw some little rabbits pottering around the place. It was the perfect end to a lovely afternoon.

Overall we had a lovely experience with Red Letter Days and The Belfry and we have already decided that we would like to return. As a lot of Red Letter Day vouchers are bought as gifts I would definitely recommend buying one of these for any afternoon tea lovers in your life. The service was great from redeeming the voucher to eating the cake! We had a great time. The specific voucher we used was Afternoon Tea for Two at The Belfry which is in Sutton Coldfield.

The voucher was given to me in return for an honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.
