Last Tuesday we had Little Man’s 2 year development check with the Health Visitors. He had had a similar type of review done at nursery when he turned 2 in October but I thought it was best to go along to this too, to ensure his medical records were kept up to date. I don’t know why but I always feel these checks are a little bit of an exam for us as parents. I’m sure that isn’t the aim of them at all but when your child is being examined to see what he can do, and it… View Post

I did an interview last week with the charity PANDAS (Pre & Postnatal Depression Advice & Support), they asked me a question based around social media affecting me or other mums with postnatal depression or anxiety. This really got me thinking. I didn’t really find that social media had any negative effect on my anxiety, however I can really see why they asked the question. When you take a photograph of your children with the intention of putting it on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram you don’t put the blurry or the miserable faced ones on. You put the happy, smiley, ‘we’re… View Post

My Mum used to run a playgroup back in the late 80s and early 90s. She then went on to work as a Learning Support Assistant in a primary school. I thought I would share with you some pasta play that Little Man has been doing with her recently.    My Mum bought along dried… View Post

I love chocolate. No, I mean I really love chocolate. If you told me to go on a chocolate free diet, I would look at you as if you were something from another planet. The words ‘no chocolate’ don’t compute in my brain I’m afraid. I need it. I sometimes only manage to get through a day because I have promised myself a chocolatey treat at the end of it. It’s my own little pat on the back for getting myself through another day without any major disasters. The problem is; now it’s not just my chocolate – it’s Mummy… View Post

Little Man was teething his second tooth; his cheeks were red, his temperature was high and the dribble was everywhere! As he restlessly napped I headed to the shelf on my bookshelf which I had become maybe a little too familiar with and looked up the symptoms of teething for the 4th time that morning. Had I missed something? Was this actual teething or some terrible disease I had missed? Not sure I knew every single fact ever published about a teething 5 month old I grabbed the laptop and spent another half hour searching for any webpage that even… View Post
